Assistant Vice President for Finance Named at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Troy, N.Y. — Kirsten Volpi has been named assistant vice
president for finance and controller at Rensselaer. Volpi is
Rensselaer’s chief accounting officer.
Volpi will have overall responsibility for managing financial
reporting, systems, and operations. Her work will include
establishing accounting policies and procedures to ensure
Rensselaer’s financial resources and operations are utilized

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Volpi is a member of
the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of
CPAs. Prior to joining the Rensselaer staff on Jan. 23, Volpi
served as associate vice president for finance and
administration for the University of Colorado Foundation Inc.

Before joining the University of Colorado Foundation in 1997,
Volpi previously served as chief financial officer and
treasurer at the Clayton Foundation in Denver, as director of
finance for American Water Works Association, as accounting
supervisor for Astec America, and as a senior accountant with
Coopers and Lybrand.
