EVENT: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is hosting a free Family Technology Awareness Day in honor of Black Family Technology Awareness Week to encourage all community families to participate in the fast-moving world of technology.

Some of the day's activities include a virtual trading room, a demonstration of the automatic double Dutch jump rope machine by student inventor Tahira Reid '00, exhibits from the Junior Museum, and a demonstration of African fractals-the geometry of similar shapes repeated on ever-shrinking scales. Fractal geometry is apparent everywhere in Africa from hairstyles to religious practices.

Parking is in the Visitor's Lot on 15th Street. Student Ambassadors will lead groups from the Student Union to activities around campus.
