Leonard Interrante visits China to give plenary lecture and to promote cooperation between U.S. and Chinese chemists.
Professor of Chemistry Leonard V. Interrante,
Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry
of Materials, returned from a 10 day trip to China in
July, which was sponsored by the American Chemical Society
(ACS) Publications Division to enhance cooperation betweenn
U.S. and Chinese chemists.
During his visit to the Institute of Chemistry of the
Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing , Interrante presented a
seminar to highlight his recent accomplishments in
polycarbosilane chemistry.
In addition, along with three other ACS journal editors
(David Whitten, Editor-in-chief of Langmuir,
Robin Rogers, Editor-in-chief of Crystal
Growth and Design, and Prashant V. Kamat, Senior
Editor of J. Phys.
Chem. A & B),
Interrante presented a talk and led discussions on scientific
publication issues during a “Symposium of Scholarly Publishing”
in Beijing.
Interrante also gave a plenary lecture in the opening
session of the 2006 biennial meeting of the Chinese Chemical
Society, which was held on the campus of Jilin University in
Changchun.
