Wendy Lin-Cook Joins RPI as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management

Leading higher ed expert brings two decades of innovation to drive strategic enrollment growth

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) has appointed Wendy Lin-Cook, Ph.D. as vice provost of enrollment management, effective August 18. The appointment positions RPI to leverage cutting-edge recruitment strategies as the university expands its influence as a learning community at the confluence of creativity, science, and technology in service to society’s greatest challenges.  

“I’m incredibly excited to step into this role at such a pivotal time,” said Lin-Cook. “RPI values bold ideas and real impact, and that’s exactly the kind of environment where enrollment innovation can thrive.”  

Lin-Cook brings proven expertise in transforming enrollment strategies through big data analytics, advanced quantitative modeling, and artificial intelligence applications. At RPI she will focus on attracting and retaining the Institute's ideal students: inquisitive, high-achieving, creative and entrepreneurial learners who excel within RPI's distinctive hands-on, research-intensive academic environment.

Lin-Cook is renowned as a pioneer in technology-enhanced student recruitment. She most recently served as vice president of enrollment management at Montclair State University, where she led the university through a digital transformation that revolutionized admissions. Prior to Montclair, she had significant impact at leading institutions including New Jersey Institute of Technology, Seton Hall University and Felician University where she consistently delivered improvements in enrollment.  

Lin-Cook holds a B.B.A. in Banking and Finance and an M.A. in Humanities from Hofstra University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University.
