Workshop: How to Write a Successful Business Plan

January 13, 2003

Troy, N.Y. - Budding student entrepreneurs are invited to a workshop sponsored by Rensselaer's Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship at the Lally School of Management and Technology. The workshop, "How to Write a Successful Business Plan," will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce office in Colonie. This workshop is free to all participants.

Led by Lally School professors Andrew Corbett, assistant professor of strategic management and entrepreneurship, and Nicholas Young, assistant professor of management and sociology, the workshop will walk participants through the process of writing a business plan, and offer advice and tips on creating a viable plan that can capture the attention of venture capitalists. The workshop was organized to give prospective entrants of Rensselaer's Tech Valley Collegiate Business Plan Competition a resource for putting together submissions, says Jeanne Stefanik, manager of the Severino Center.

Although the workshop is free, participants must RSVP to the Severino Center at (518) 276-2650 or severino-center@rpi.edu by Monday, Jan. 20.
