Rensselaer Once Again Ranks Among the Nation's Top 50 Universities

For the 10th year in a row, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has been named among the top 50 universities in the nation, according to the annual U.S. News & World Report list of “America’s Best Colleges.” The Institute is ranked 42nd among all national universities. In addition, a Rensselaer education was given top marks for quality and affordability, ranked 30th on the list of “Great Schools, Great Prices.”

The undergraduate engineering program at Rensselaer continues to be ranked in the top 25 in the country, ranked at 23 overall.

Since 2000, the Institute has risen in rankings related to student success, education, and achievement. The average freshman retention ranking has risen from 49th to 39th since 2000. The percentage of classes with under 20 students increased from 35 percent to 53 percent, and the student faculty ratio remains at its lowest level.
