In tribute to an outstanding commitment to community service, the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Awards Program recognizes alumni contributions in every area of volunteer work. This year’s winners were formally recognized during a recent ceremony for their dedication and commitment to Rensselaer, and for their contributions to the RAA.

President Shirley Ann Jackson was present to thank the award winners for their contributions to Rensselaer, including Paul Severino ’69 and John Broadbent Jr. ’59, who currently serve on the Rensselaer Board of Trustees. The ceremony took place Oct. 15, during the Institute’s Reunion and Homecoming weekend.

Severino was honored with the Distinguished Service Award (DSA), the highest award presented by the RAA. The DSA recognizes “truly distinguished service to a profession, to the nation, or to humanity.” Severino was honored for his generous gifts of time, talent, and resources to Rensselaer.
