Co-Chaired by Rensselaer President Shirley Ann Jackson and SEFCU President and CEO Michael Castellana, the CREDC is charged with creating a five-year strategic plan for economic development for the Capital Region.

What: An open meeting facilitated by Council members in an effort to generate ideas about how to develop the strategic plan for long-term, sustainable, regional economic growth. Additional open meeting dates will be announced for September and October.

Who: Business-, organization-, and university-representatives, and individuals from the Capital Region are encouraged to attend the meeting.

Where: East Campus Athletic Village, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Last month, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced the creation of 10 regional councils across New York State that will serve as single points of contact for economic activity in each region. The Councils exist to create a new operating model for New York State government that will stimulate economic development in every region and improve the business climate statewide.
