Two people stand in a cavernous space with walls that appear to be composed of intricate, crystalline structures in shades of blue. The word "CONFLUENCE" is prominently displayed in the foreground, along with the subtitle "ART SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY CREATIVITY" below it, suggesting a thematic focus on the intersection of these disciplines. The image evokes a sense of exploration and innovation.

Oftentimes, people think of the arts and sciences as polar opposites. In fact, most people reach a point in their education and careers where they must choose one over the other.

At RPI, we believe that bridging the gap between art, science, and technology achieves the unparalleled innovation and creativity required to solve the complex problems of today’s world.

Brought to you by The Priem Family Foundation, led by Curtis Priem ’82, RPI alumnus and vice chair of the RPI Board of Trustees, and his wife, Cindi, Confluence is a three-part television series that shows how the arts and STEM combine to spark human creativity.

The series, by the Center for New American Media, Louis Alvarez, Christopher Groban, Andrew Kolker, and Marion Lear Swaybill, premieres on PBS’ streaming platform July 12 and will broadcast on PBS stations nationwide later this summer.
