Richard Healy, a doctoral student in aerospace engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, was recently chosen as the top graduate student intern within the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory (CCDC ARL) Vehicle Technology Directorate (VTD).
Healy spent the summer interning with the CCDC ARL Vehicle Technology Directorate, which is focused on enabling the next generation of air and ground vehicles. His presented his research, titled “Aerodynamic Prediction of the Tiltrotor Aeroelastic Stability Testbed using Computational Fluid Dynamics,” during a VTD Student Symposium and was selected as a second place winner.
Healy earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer last year.
