Xavier Intes, professor of biomedical engineering and co-director of the Biomedical Imaging Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been elected a fellow of The Optical Society (OSA), an international society for optics and photonics.
OSA selects fellows who have “served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonics.”
Intes receives this honor for “achievements in translational biophotonics” both in industry and academia. He has made seminal contributions in the field of biomedical optics by developing new non-invasive instrumental and algorithmic tools for the non-invasive assessment of biotissues in clinical and preclinical settings, as well as for bioprinted tissues.
