New Electric Vehicle Discount Program Available to Rensselaer Community

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is excited to announce a new electric vehicle discount program for the Rensselaer community: Drive Green with National Grid.

As they look to a cleaner, greener future, National Grid has partnered with the nonprofit Green Energy Consumers Alliance to build up a network of local car dealerships who offer a fixed purchase discounts and lease deals on a monthly basis.

The Drive Green with National Grid discounts are in addition to the New York State Drive Clean rebate (up to $2,000) and the federal tax credit (up to $7,500). The Drive Green with National Grid website has a wealth of information about the cars, incentives, charging, environmental impact, and more. Visit drivegreen.nationalgridus.com. To qualify for the program discounts, all one has to do is fill out this form.

Rensselaer recently installed seven electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on campus. The project was funded with support from National Grid and the Charge Ready NY initiative from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
