The advisory board of the Quantitative Finance and Risk Analytics (QFRA) master’s program in the Lally School of Management will host a panel discussion with business experts and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute alumni for potential co-terminal students on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at noon.

This event is intended for juniors and seniors with non-business backgrounds who want to learn more about current trends and opportunities in the financial industry.

“Throughout the financial services industry, there is an exploding demand for graduates with an understanding of finance combined with the technical tools to implement these new technologies within these institutions,” said Qiang Wu, an associate professor and director of the QFRA master’s program. “We expect exciting and potentially very lucrative careers for our graduates, who are interested in using new tools to tackle some of the most difficult challenges in the financial services industry.”

The notable panelists include William Gordon ’77, who is the current QFRA board chairman and the former CEO at Dix Hills Partners, LLC; Peter Memon ’89, the founder of Invenio; Jeremy Raccio ’98, CFA and portfolio manager of quantitative investments at UBS Asset Management; and Jeffrey Sherman ’17, an investment officer for the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Howard P. Isermann ’42 Auditorium of the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS) on campus from 12:00 to 2 p.m. Time will be available for students to meet the experts.
