Strategies for Increasing Inclusion on College Campuses Highlighted on RPI Podcast

Strategies for increasing diversity, inclusion, and equity in higher education are discussed by two leaders implementing them at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the latest episode of Why Not Change the World? The RPI Podcast.
Lee Ligon, the associate dean of science for academic affairs at Rensselaer, joins Chenthu Jayachandiran, the director of multicultural programs at Rensselaer, for an in-depth conversation about how to make college campuses more welcoming, inclusive, and supportive for all students.
Recorded in February, the episode serves as the finale of the second season of Why Not Change the World?, which brings together experts who are tackling pressing issues from different angles.
Jayachandiran and Ligon note that addressing issues such as diversity and equity is an important part of preparing all students — at Rensselaer and elsewhere — to be productive members of a global community.
“We don’t want our students to just be good citizens of the world,” Ligon said. “We want them to be leaders in the world.”
