Bowen Wang, a doctoral student in biomedical engineering, has been selected to receive the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) Young Investigator Award for his abstract presentation, titled “Fracture Risk in Type 2 Diabetes: Longitudinal Glycemic Control-based Prediction and Efficacy of Medications.”
The ASBMR Young Investigator Award “recognizes young investigators who submit top-ranking abstracts to an ASBMR Meeting.”
Wang is a member of Deepak Vashishth’s research group. The group’s research combines mechanics, materials science, biochemistry, and cell biology to study the mechanics and biology of bone fragility associated with aging, osteoporosis, and diabetes.
