Vincent Meunier, the head of the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been named Editor-in-Chief of a Carbon Trends, a newly launched sister journal to Carbon, the premier research journal for carbon-related papers.

Meunier, a Gail and Jeffrey L. Kodosky ’70 Constellation professor at Rensselaer, is presently a senior editor of Carbon and has been working with the journal since January 2018.

Publishing company Elsevier recently debuted the new Carbon Trends website and released an interview with Meunier. In it, Meunier discusses his hopes for the new “gold open access” journal, which means it is completely open access.

“As a fully open-access journal, Carbon Trends’ objective is to provide a fast medium to share new results related to carbon structures and nanostructures,” he said. “Carbon Trends is a multidisciplinary journal that will publish reports cutting across many disciplines including physics, chemistry, and materials engineering.”
