Nathan Meltz, senior lecturer in the Department of the Arts in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, was recently awarded the Prix Invitation Presse Papier for his collective entry in the 12th Biennale internationale d'estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières in Quebec.

The Prix Invitation Presse Papier is awarded to a non-Canadian artist chosen by the board of directors of the Atelier Press Papier, a gallery dedicated to the art of printmaking. Meltz was selected for his entry of five screen-printed works.

As part of the award, Meltz will participate in a weeks-long residency at the Atelier Presse Papier to create art directly with the gallery’s printmaking technicians, while presenting several workshops to local artists. He will be focusing on a new body of work that combines printmaking, sculpture, audio, and performance. The residency will culminate in a solo exhibition “addressing technology's role in bringing about the end of the world (and maybe saving it)” in the Atelier Presse Papier gallery in 2022.
