Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is conducting an important study for the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) on the potential for finding solutions to supply chain problems that would benefit both the public and private sectors in the Albany to New York City regional business corridor.

The research, “Collaborative Approaches to Foster Energy Efficient Logistics in the Albany – New York City Corridor,” seeks to gather input from businesses in freight-oriented sectors (e.g., manufacturing, retail, wholesale, accommodation, and food service) or service-oriented sectors (e.g., real estate and leasing, professional, scientific and technical services, finance) to learn about their preferences regarding innovative logistics concepts that are expected to improve profitability and reduce environmental impacts.

The research team, led by Prof. Jose Holguin-Veras from the Center for Infrastructure, Transportation, and the Environment (CITE) at Rensselaer, is requesting businesses in freight- or service-oriented sectors to complete an online survey about delivery practices and preferences.

The survey can be filled by clicking here.

A $15 gift card will be sent upon satisfactory completion of the survey.

Once the survey data are collected, Rensselaer will use the information to identify potential pilot programs to be conducted in the region with the intent of providing insights into the challenges of and opportunities in energy efficient logistics, identifying ways to overcome related barriers, and demonstrating to stakeholders the real-life power of implementing new, efficient logistical strategies.
