The industry membership program of the Center for Architecture, Science, and Ecology (CASE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute continues to grow with the addition of Fort Miller Group (FMG), an innovator of precast concrete and foam formwork.
FMG and its companies, Fort Miller Precast and Scott System, are renowned for their commitment to developing technologically advanced, sustainable practices in concrete — one of the most challenging building systems for carbon reduction. FMG, whose projects typically include bridges, retaining walls, and highway infrastructure products, was the fabricator of the tulip pots and columns at “Little Island,” the new public park on the Hudson River in New York City.
“With its deep expertise in precast concrete infrastructure, Fort Miller Group is an important addition to our partner network and marks an important milestone in our ongoing mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry,” said Dennis Shelden, director of CASE.
“We are proud to join the CASE industry partner program and contribute to the development of a regional innovation hub for advanced sustainable building technologies,” stated Emily Stuff, an engineering manager with Scott System and a member of the Innovation Committee at FMG.
The industry partner membership program at CASE aims to bring together leading design professionals, construction firms, tech companies, and government leaders to envision, create, and implement the future of the built environment.
