Steven Cramer, professor in the Isermann Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been named Institute Professor, one of the highest and most prestigious honors bestowed upon a Rensselaer faculty member.

Rensselaer Researchers Publish Research in Nature Machine Intelligence Promoting the Metaverse Transformation of Health Care

In a perspective article published today in Nature Machine Intelligence, researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Drs. Ge Wang, Pingkun Yan, and Chuang Niu presented “Medical Technology and AI (MeTAI)” in the metaverse that promises to develop new intelligent health care. This represents a multidisciplinary collaboration among academic and clinical researchers with University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins University, Stony Brook University, industrial leaders from GE Healthcare and Canon Medical Research, and regulatory experts at the FDA and Puente Solutions.

Juergen Hahn Elected Leader of the Biomedical Engineering Society’s Council of Chairs for 2023

Dr. Juergen Hahn, Professor and Department Head for Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been elected leader of the Biomedical Engineering Society’s (BMES) Council of Chairs for 2023. BMES consists of the department heads/department chairs of all BME departments across the nation. This appointment follows Dr. Hahn being named a BMES Fellow in early September.
