Rensselaer Ranks Among Nation's Top 50 Universities

Troy, N.Y. — U.S. News & World Report has ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 46th among the nation’s top universities, up from 48th last year. The Institute also ranks 26th in the “Best Values” among national universities, up from 29th last year and 34th in 2002.

Enhanced LEDs Promise To Transform Lighting

The National Science Foundation (NSF) recently awarded the research team a three-year, $210,000 grant to move the patented omni-directional reflector to market.

Rensselaer To Create Future Energy Systems Center for Advanced Technology

NYSTAR funding to support energy research and technology commercialization in NYS Troy, N.Y. — Governor George E. Pataki today announced that Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has been awarded up to $10 million in state funds to create the Future Energy Systems Center for Advanced Technology (CAT), in partnership with Cornell University and the Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Rensselaer Awarded $1 Million To Develop Lubricant Coatings for Air and Spacecraft

“Chameleon” lubricant coatings react to their environment Troy, N.Y. — Researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have received a $1 million grant, as part of a $2.5 million joint research project with the University of Florida, to develop a new generation of synthetic lubricant coatings for future aircraft and spacecraft. The five-year award is from the United States Department of Defense’s Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative.
