EMPAC Presents staging grounds, February 20–28, 2026 A Festival of Time-Based Art and Re-Animated Memory

The Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is pleased to announce staging grounds, a nine-day festival of installations, performances, and public programs exploring how culture is shaped by acts of return and re-animation. Taking place February 20–28, 2026, the festival brings together five international artists—Korakrit Arunanondchai, Jewyo Rhii, Na Mira, Samson Young, and Li Yi-Fan—whose practices illuminate how art restages experience across time. 

West Point Band to Perform Free Concert at EMPAC March 11

The stirring sounds of America’s military musical heritage will fill the air as the West Point Band performs its acclaimed “West Point on the March” concert at the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. This free event presents a wide-ranging evening of classic marches and patriotic tunes, showcasing the talents of the U.S. Army’s oldest active band.To RSVP, click here

RPI Concert Highlights Partnership Between Major Experimental Composers

Faculty, students, and alumni from the Arts Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will present Time Regained, a concert showcasing the partnership of Pauline Oliveros and Terry Riley through the lens of time-delay techniques, on Wednesday, November 6, at 4 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC).
