RPI Concert Highlights Partnership Between Major Experimental Composers

Faculty, students, and alumni from the Arts Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will present Time Regained, a concert showcasing the partnership of Pauline Oliveros and Terry Riley through the lens of time-delay techniques, on Wednesday, November 6, at 4 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC).

William Gibbons, Leading Music Scholar, Joins RPI as Dean of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences

William Gibbons, Ph.D. will join Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) as the new Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) on August 1. A leading music scholar, Gibbons’ wide-ranging research explores the intersections of the arts, humanities, and technology in contemporary culture, especially in video games. He will help strengthen RPI’s unique, holistic approach to learning and discovery that foregrounds the human and social context of scientific and technological progress. 

Riding the Rails in Rensselaer County

Joey Morse ’24 has recently launched an exhibition that explores train travel in the Capital Region from the 1830s to the present at the Albany-Rensselaer Joseph L. Bruno Rail Station.
