Matthew Goodheart Releases Latest Album of Reembodied Sound Recordings

Composer, improviser, and sound installation artist Matthew Goodheart, an assistant professor of music composition in the Department of Arts in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, will release his latest album on Friday, June 25.

Rensselaer GameFest 2021 To Be Held on May 8

After a successful mid-pandemic shift to an all-remote format last year, GameFest – the digital-gaming festival organized by the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences (GSAS) program in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – will again be held completely virtually this year. GameFest 2021 will take place on Sansar, a multiuser online virtual platform, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on May 8. It will also stream live on YouTube beginning at 2 p.m. A full schedule is available on the GameFest 2021 website. The event is free and open to the public.

McKinney Writing Contest 2021 Winners Announced

Winners for the 80th annual McKinney Writing Contest at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute were announced on April 7 in a virtual symposium that featured author readings and a panel discussion on the benefits of creative practices during difficult times.

A cross-disciplinary team of faculty at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have launched the Alzheimer’s Prevention Project and created a website designed to encourage citizens to engage in activities that scientific research has identified will reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
