Starman Screening and Director Q&A at EMPAC April 29

Academy Award®-nominated director Robert Stone is coming to RPI’s campus for a special screening of his film Starman, followed by a live Q&A. The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the EMPAC Theater on April 29 at 4:30 p.m.

RPI Students Experiment with Music Performance for April 9 Concert

RPI’s Contemporary Improvisation Ensemble will host “Constellations” on April 9, a collaborative performance with student musicians and renowned artist Nick Dunston. The free concert will take place at 5 p.m. in the Theatre of the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) on RPI’s campus.

GameFest Returns to EMPAC on March 28

GameFest, RPI's annual celebration of innovation and creativity in game design, returns to the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) on Saturday, March 28 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. GameFest features a showcase and competition for student-made games, with cash prizes awarded by a panel of experts from the Capital Region games industry.

RPI Symposium Explores Art, the Environment, and the Legacy of the Erie Canal

The School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), in collaboration with the Albany Symphony, the New York State Canal Corporation, and the New York Power Authority, will host a symposium titled Reflections on Waterways: Intersections of Arts, Culture, and the Environment in New York on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Center For Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS) Auditorium at RPI.
