Admissions Building at Rensselaer To Be Named in Honor of Pioneering Alumna
TROY, N.Y. — The Admissions Building at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will be named in honor of Dr. Nancy Deloye Fitzroy ’49 — the first woman to graduate from the Institute with a degree in chemical engineering — and her husband and fellow engineer, the late Roland V. Fitzroy Jr. On Thursday, May 16, at 10:15 a.m., Rensselaer President Shirley Ann Jackson will preside over a dedication ceremony at the Rensselaer Admissions Building, during which it will officially be designated as the Nancy Deloye Fitzroy ’49 and Roland V. Fitzroy Jr. Admissions Building.
