Hurricane Irene Preparations

August 26, 2011: 10:25 For additional updates, visit RPIAlert August 25, 2011: 10:30 p.m. As you know, the National Hurricane Center has been tracking Hurricane Irene as it moves north along the east coast. While conditions and the track could change over the next few days, the forecast from the Center indicates that the storm will bring high winds and heavy rain to our area on Sunday, August 28.

Capital Region Economic Development Council to hold first Open Meeting at Rensselaer

On Thursday, August 18, at 11:30 am, you are invited to attend the first open meeting of the Capital Region Economic Development Council (CREDC). Co-Chaired by Rensselaer President Shirley Ann Jackson and SEFCU President and CEO Michael Castellana, the CREDC is charged with creating a five-year strategic plan for economic development for the Capital Region.   

Appointment of Associate Vice President for Research/Physical and Engineering Sciences

Memo to the Rensselaer Community from Francine Berman, Vice President for Research I am delighted to announce that Dr. Jon Morse, Director of the Astrophysics Division in the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, will join the Institute as Associate Vice President for Research/Physical and Engineering Sciences starting October 3, 2011.
