School of Architecture Partners With RISSE To Reimagine Multi-Building Complex

Students in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) are working with the Refugee and Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus Inc. (RISSE) to develop plans to reimagine a multi-building complex that includes a 16,000-square-foot historic church listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Deborah McGuinness Is Recognized for Achievements in Artificial Intelligence

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Deborah McGuinness has been elected a fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) “for significant contributions to the semantic web, knowledge representation and reasoning environments, and deployed artificial intelligence applications.” AAAI is a nonprofit scientific society that promotes research in artificial intelligence and its responsible use. The AAAI fellows program recognizes people who have “made significant, sustained contributions to the field of artificial intelligence.”

Career Tips and Job Opportunities Shared at Life Sciences Business Event

In November, over 100 members of the Rensselaer community gathered for the Life Sciences Business Symposium presented by the Lally School of Management in collaboration with the Center for Career and Professional Development. The event included a panel discussion with representatives from Regeneron, Curia, and AngioDynamics, followed by a networking opportunity with 15 participating life science companies with internship, co-op, and full-time openings.

Second Rensselaer Researcher Named One of the Most Highly Cited

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Fudong Han, Priti and Mukesh Chatter ’82 Career Development Chair in Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering, has been named one of the most highly cited researchers of 2022 in the area of cross-field by Clarivate. The distinction applies to only one in 1,000 researchers. According to Clarivate, “Highly Cited Researchers have demonstrated significant and broad influence reflected in their publication of multiple highly cited papers over the last decade.” Han joins Humberto Terrones Maldonado, Rayleigh Endowed Chair Professor of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy, who was also given the distinction.
