Researchers use cryo-electron microscopy to define structure and pave the way for antibiotic development

Jefferson (Zé) Kielwagen, a lecturer in the Department of Arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, recently opened a solo art show at the Edi Balod Gallery in Criciúma, Brazil.

Isabel Vineyard and Yishu Yu were recently awarded prizes in the 2022 Lyceum Fellowship Competition. 

Rensselaer doctoral student Richard Healy and Dr. Farhan Gandhi, director of the Center for Mobility with Vertical Lift (MOVE), have won a best paper award from the aircraft design technical sessions at the Vertical Flight Society’s 78th Annual Forum & Technology Display. The paper will also be considered for the overall Alfred Gessow best paper award.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Deborah McGuinness was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2022 Knowledge Graph Conference, recognizing her contributions in semantics and knowledge graphs.

Four Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute students affiliated with the Center for Mobility with Vertical Lift (the MOVE Center) won the prestigious 2022 Vertical Flight Foundation Scholarship awards through the Vertical Flight Society. These awards recognize outstanding accomplishments in the field of vertical flight, with specific awards named in honor of different pioneers of the field.

Anirban Banerjee, MBA ’22, has won a $1,000 2022 Albany Capital District Association for Supply Chain Management Forum Scholarship.

Winners have been announced for the end-of-year entrepreneurship competitions at the Paul J. and Kathleen M. Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Eli Schiff ’21 is this year’s recipient of the Nuvalence Builder Award, which recognizes one or more graduating seniors at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute who have demonstrated superior skills through extracurricular projects in hardware and software innovation.

Anthony Titus, an associate professor in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is the recipient of a 2022 Arts and Letters Award in Architecture from the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Letters.
