ACM Honors Mohammed Zaki for Computing Advances

The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), the world’s largest educational and scientific society, has named Mohammed Zaki, a professor of computer science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, to the newest class of ACM Fellows.

Akila Udage Recognized by Department of Energy

Akila Udage, a doctoral candidate at the Lighting Research Center (LRC) in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) with an Honorable Mention in the 2022 Solid-State Lighting Workshop student poster competition for his research into the use of 3D printing to integrate electromagnetic elements into lighting systems.

Rensselaer Student Awarded Computing Scholarship

For the second year in a row, a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute student has been awarded a scholarship from the Upsilon Pi Epsilon international honor society in computing and information disciplines. Alexandra Hsueh was honored with an executive council award this year. Last year’s Rensselaer winner was Phillip B Kopita.

National Institutes of Health Awards Grant for Enhanced NMR Instrumentation

The National Institutes of Health High End Instrumentation Grant Program has awarded an equipment grant of $1,315,168 to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to upgrade high field 800 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) core instrumentation in the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS).

Research From Nishtha Langer Wins Best Paper Award

Nishtha Langer, an associate professor of business analytics in the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, co-authored a research paper that was recently selected as the Senior Scholar Best Publication Award for 2020 from the Association for Information Systems.

Responses Needed for New Supply Chain Study in Albany-NYC Corridor

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is conducting an important study for the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) on the potential for finding solutions to supply chain problems that would benefit both the public and private sectors in the Albany to New York City regional business corridor.
