Liping Huang, a professor of materials science and engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been named a fellow of the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) — an honor bestowed on members who have made “outstanding contributions to the ceramic arts or sciences.”

Manoj Gottipati, a research associate at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been awarded a $100,000 postdoctoral fellowship from the Paralyzed Veterans of America Research Foundation to support his research into a potential therapy for spinal cord injury (SCI).

Specifically, the award recognized "seminal contributions to transmute and harness quantum electronic structure calculations for computational materials design in diverse fields of materials research including electrochemistry and plasmonics."

Pawel Keblinski, the head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been elected a fellow of the Materials Research Society (MRS). He receives this honor for his influential contributions to “the development of computational methods leading to fundamental understanding of thermal transport in materials on nanometer length scales.”

Cogswell Laboratory at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will be closed for the day on March 10, 2020, while the Environmental, Health, Safety & Risk Management department conducts a hazardous chemical disposal of chemicals and materials that are no longer needed for research or educational purposes.

Yael Erel, a lecturer in the School of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, was recently awarded a Journal of Architectural Education Best Article Award by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture.
