Rensselaer and Hudson Valley FLL To Host FIRST LEGO League Robotics Tournament

What does it take to live on a space station or travel to another planet? That’s what 12 elementary and middle school afterschool LEGO Robotics teams from the Capital Region have been working together to figure out. They’ll take part in the annual Hudson Valley FIRST LEGO League Regional Qualifying Tournament at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Rensselaer To Present “The Isle Is Full of Noises”

Beginning November 27, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will present The Isle Is Full of Noises, an environmental sound installation composed by Michael Century, professor of new media and music, with the assistance of Eric Miller, Ph.D. student in electronic arts.  Free and open to the general public, the work will be presented November 27, 28, and 29, from noon to 5 p.m., in the Goodman Studio 1 in the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at Rensselaer.

New Media Studio Opens at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

The School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 28. to celebrate the grand opening of its new media studio. The redesigned 1,700-square-foot space includes an audio control room, video control room, audio-visual lab, isolation booth, and an audio and video production studio.
