The Center for Career and Professional Development at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has been strategically building partnerships with companies throughout the United States and globally to create a wide array of opportunities for students to pursue as part of The Arch at Rensselaer. A notable and well-established employer partner is GlobalFoundries, an American semiconductor foundry with corporate headquarters in Silicon Valley.

Cameron McLean Named 2019 Pillar of Rensselaer

Cameron McLean, the director of student activities, has been named the 2019 Pillar of Rensselaer award recipient at the annual Service Recognition and Retirement Dinner, held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, Aug. 9.

Black Carbon Expert Sasha Wagner Joins Rensselaer

In the global carbon cycle, rivers are important players, pumping terrestrial carbon into the oceans. Ferried amid a cargo of dissolved organic matter – a category that encompasses molecules of things living, dead, and in the process of decay -- new sources of carbon enter the flow from a river’s headwaters to its mouth, while exposure to sunlight, microbes and other factors alter their original chemical structure along the route.

Society for Glycobiology Honors Robert Linhardt

Professor Robert Linhardt of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has been awarded the 2019 Karl Meyer Lectureship Award bestowed by the Society for Glycobiology.   The award honors “widely recognized major contributions to the field of Glycobiology” and will be presented at the society’s annual meeting in Phoenix this November.

Pindaro Demertzoglou Publishes 10th Book on SQL

Pindaro Demertzoglou, a senior lecturer in the Lally School of Management and the academic director of the Business Analytics Graduate Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, recently published his 10th book on Structured Query Language (SQL), a standardized language used within multiple business databases.
