An aerial survey of Lake George, begun last fall as part of the Jefferson Project at Lake George, will resume the week of May 19, weather dependent.

This spring, 1,613 students will receive degrees from Rensselaer, on Saturday, May 24, in the East Campus Athletic Village stadium.

On May 23, Rensselaer will convene the 12th annual President’s Commencement Colloquy.

This year, 30 students will be graduating from the ROTC program at RPI, and starting active military service as officers with the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.

In 2010, the incoming Class of 2014 made its debut on the Rensselaer campus. The high-achieving group included 327 women and a significant increase in the national and international profile of the student body.

Xing Wang, a biochemist investigating the bio-nanotechnology potential of DNA and RNA, has been appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rensselaer.

Anthony Bishop, Chris Newhard, and Divya Shastry have been awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowships, while five other students have been recognized with honorable mention.

To better meet the needs of graduate students and working professionals in the Hartford, Conn. area, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is taking steps to strengthen the alignment of the Hartford campus’ graduate curriculum with the campus in Troy, N.Y.

One  graduate will return from the International Space Station (ISS) tonight while another is preparing to travel to the ISS at the end of the month.
